With 2003 revenues of $1.75 billion, Veritas delivers products for data protection, storage and server management, high availability and application performance management that are used by 99% of the Fortune 500. Veritas is headquartered in Mountain View, CA and has 6,700 employees in 40 countries. A well established facility at Shannon is now regarded as a key Centre of Excellence within the global operations of Veritas. Since start-up in November, 1999, Veritas Shannon has grown to over 113 employees. Initially the focus was on the development of an Order-to-Cash Centre for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), with associated software distribution. More recently customer care and sales support functions have also been added, strengthening the strong customer ethos. The site achieved ISO 9001-2001 In September 2001 - an award which confirmed that strong external focus.

Headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, Avocent employs approximately 900 employees worldwide and had sales in 2003 of $304m. Avocent's international headquarters was established at Shannon in 1996. 120 people are employed in a 130,000 sq ft facility. Activities undertaken at Shannon including; R&D, supply chain management, customer care, technical support, international finance and Treasury, marketing, distribution and logistics. The Shannon facility also hosts a customer solutions centre.
