Founded in 1989, Shannon Aerospace specialises in base maintenance services for the Airbus A320 series, Boeing 737 Classic and New Generation aircraft, Boeing 757 and 767 and the MD-80 series.  In addition, the company also handles ageing aircraft programs and structural repairs, modification and interior refurbishment services and painting.

A 100% subsidiary of leading MRO provider Lufthansa Technik AG, the Shannon Aerospace facility has five maintenance lines with corresponding workshops with paint bays. The core business of the Shannon facility is base maintenance on narrow body aircraft.  The company also performs an assortment of technical management services for the Banking and Aircraft Leasing Sector. It also provides a line maintenance service at Shannon Airport and has an EASA 147 approved Training School at its facility.

Shannon Aerospace in one of Lufthansa Technik's leading innovators in applying lean principles to the base maintenance process and provides personnel expertise to support the establishment of additional base maintenance facilities within the network.

Located at Shannon Airport, the Shannon Aerospace Hangar is a purpose-built facility, and was developed from a Greenfield site in 1990.  The total production space of 35,640 sq ms comprises hangar space (14,702 sq ms), Workshops/Stores (17,285 sq ms) and offices (3,653 sq ms).  Over 60 airline customers have come to Shannon Aerospace since the hangar's opening in 1992.
